The StarLadder Budapest Major 2025 is the second Counter-Strike 2 Major of the year and one of the biggest events in the esports betting calendar.

What Is the StarLadder Budapest Major 2025?

The StarLadder Budapest Major is part of Valve’s prestigious Counter-Strike Major Championships.

32 elite teams participate and the event runs from 24 November to 14 December 2025 across multiple stages. In each match, two teams of five face off.

Early rounds take place at the MTK Sportpark, while the Playoffs will be hosted at Budapest’s MVM Dome.

Format & Structure

The tournament follows a familiar four-stage format leading to the Grand Final on 14 December.

Stage 1 (24-27 November)

16 teams compete in a Swiss System format. Best-of-1 (Bo1) matches, with elimination and advancement matches played as Best-of-3 (Bo3).

The top eight teams move forward to stage two.

Stage 2 (29 November-2 December)

Eight new teams join and the Swiss System continues. At the end of stage two, the top eight teams advance.

Stage 3 (4-7 December)

Another eight teams are invited to join the previous 8. The Swiss System continues until Bo1 matches with Bo3 for key rounds. The final eight teams qualify for the playoffs.

Playoffs (11-14 December)

This is a single-elimination bracket and all matches are in Bo3 format. Competitive Map Pools begin for the play-offs, including Ancient, Dust II, Inferno, Mirage, Nuke, Overpass and Train.
