Novak Djokovic vs Alexander Zverev Form

Djokovic came into the Australian Open as the eighth seed and looked shaky in the opening rounds. He overcame his first two matches in four sets before defeating Tomas Machac and Jiri Lehecka in straight sets.

The 10-time Australian Open champion then faced his biggest test against Carlos Alcaraz. Despite losing the first set and heading off the court with an injury, Djokovic returned and won the following three sets.

It was Djokovic’s first win over a top 10 opponent since 2023 as he sealed his spot in a 50th Grand Slam semi-final.

World number two Alexander Zverev only dropped one set in his opening four Australian Open matches.

The German faced a tougher test in the quarter-finals and held the first two sets 7-6,7-6 and lost the third 6-2. Zverev eventually progressed after winning the fourth set 6-1.

The second seed will now enter his ninth Grand Slam semi-final but he has only reached two major finals in his career. He has also lost eight of his 12 matches against Djokovic, including five losses on outdoor hard courts.

Djokovic is hard to stop when he has momentum and the Serbian will be confident after eliminating Alcaraz. Zverev was unconvincing against Paul in the quarter-final and a Djokovic win is expected here.
