Green Bay Packers at Minnesota Vikings Predictions and Betting Tips

Green Bay are backed to ride their defense to a season-opening win.

The Packers’ offense has been dealt a massive blow with the departure of Davante Adams.

They do still have Aaron Rodgers though, as well as a pounding run game and top defense.

That is backed to be enough against a new-look Minnesota team that may need more time to gel.

Green Bay Packers Form

Green Bay are looking to make a run at the Super Bowl after another disappointing post-season last time around.

The Packers finished the 2021 regular season with a 13-4 record and another NFC North title.

That earned them a first-round bye in the playoffs as well as home-field advantage throughout the post-season.

They failed to make the most of it though, getting bounced out in the Divisional Round by San Francisco.

The Green Bay offense stalled as they lost 13-10 thanks to a walk-off field goal from Robbie Gould.

Things did not get much better in the offseason either as the Packers allowed two of their best players, Davante Adams and Za’Darius Smith, to move on.

Out of the receivers that remain in Green Bay, Allen Lazard was the biggest contributor last season with 513 TDs and eight scores.

Defensively, Green Bay ranked top 10 in both yards and points allowed per game last season.

Minnesota Vikings Form

Minnesota are looking to challenge for the NFC North this season after some major changes in the off season.

The Vikings missed out on the playoffs last year, having finished the regular season with an 8-9 record.

They responded by naming Los Angeles Rams offensive co-ordinator Kevin O’Connell the new head coach.

Minnesota also made major changes on defense by switching the system and bringing in Za’Darius Smith from Green Bay.

A much more positive season is expected for the Vikings this time around, with O’Connell look to get the offense firing consistently.

QB Kirk Cousins will look to build on a solid 2021 season that saw him throw for 4,221 yards, 33 touchdowns and seven interceptions.

Dalvin Cook rushed for 1,159 yards and six touchdowns during his 13 appearances in 2021, and he figures to be a major focal point once again.

And in the passing game, Van Jefferson is looking to build on an impressive sophomore season that saw him rack up a career-best 1,616 yards receiving and 10 TDs.

On defense, the Vikings have switched from a 3-4 to a 4-3 in an attempt to improve on last season’s struggles.

They ranked just #24 in points allowed per game and #30 in yards allowed per game.
