  • Stake.com regular Drake has lost $300,000 by betting on Canada to win
  • Argentina's win in the Copa America saw the rapper miss out on nearly $3 million in potential winnings!
Stake.com ambassador and sportsbook regular Drake has lost $300,000 following an unsuccessful bet on the Copa America.

The rapper placed a six-figure bet on his native Canada in the semi-finals of the soccer tournament, only for Argentina to win 2-0 to advance to the final of the tournament.

Drake, who is well known for his big-money bets on Stake.com, placed a bet of $300,000 on Canada in the 1x2 market, at odds of 9.60, and stood to win $2,880,000 if the Maple Leafs caused a shock and advanced to the final.

Canada had already lost 2-0 to Argentina in the opening game of the tournament, and Tuesday night’s semi-final clash between the two nations ended with the result.

Canada fell behind to a Julian Alvarez goal on 22 minutes, and their Copa America dream was then all but ended on 51 minutes when Lionel Messi wrapped up the scoring.

Argentina will face the winners of Wednesday night's second semi-final between Uruguay and Colombia in the final, with La Albiceleste favourites to be crowned 2024 Copa America champions.
