The Vikings finished the regular season with a 13-4 record that earned them the NFC North title, while the Giants managed to advance to the postseason with a 9-7-1 record, finishing third in the NFC East.

For the Vikings, a playoff place has been secure for quite some time, meaning a late dip in form did not derail their postseason push. They went 5-3 over their final eight games, but were able to wrap up the regular season with a 29-13 victory at Chicago last weekend.

They now look to beat New York for the second time this season, having snatched a 27-24 win over the Giants thanks to a walk-off 61-yard field goal from Greg Joseph last month.

New York will be looking to avenge that loss on Sunday night and book their place in the Divisional Round.

The Giants’ presence in the postseason is surprising. They started the season in sensational form, winning six of their first eight games. But their form cooled off spectacularly as they won just three of their remaining 10 games.

A December win over division rivals Washington was huge though, and despite losing their regular season finale in Philadelphia they had done enough to set up this meeting with Philadelphia.

But can New York do what they could not do in the regular season and get the better of Minnesota, or will the Vikings repeat that Week 16 success against the Giants to advance?
